If Mission: Impossible - Final Reckoning starts off like a sentimental victory lap, can you really blame it? Get past the 30-year franchise's opening group hug, however, and Cristopher McQuarrie’s movie, his fourth in the series, proceeds to not only raise the dramatic stakes of previous outings but somehow find even more demented ways for Cruise to put his body (62yo!) on the line. From the silent depths of the Bering Sea to dazzling color in the South African sky, McQuarrie distils Cruise’s feats of daring do to moments so cinematically pure they almost feel cosmic. The Hunt goes on!

If, like me, your idea of a good time is hearing Jason Statham say stuff like “It’s tough livin’ in a grey world” and “Moonlight Sonata” in that unique American accent, you will have no issue sitting through all 116 minutes of A Working Man. This is Stath's second project with David Ayer after The Beekeeper, a movie with far more narrative to chew on than Working Man's one-last-job revenge arc, but there is plenty to enjoy here for action fans who like their fight scenes crunchy and R-rated. A special shoutout to David Harbour, playing a blind Marine, for giving the movie a touch of class.
