Despite his raw talent, Li needs training and his kung fu teacher Mr. Han suggests Daniel La Russo be his trainer to prepare him for a new form of martial arts.
The best action we’ve seen yet in the Karate Kid franchise
It’s Jackie Chan and Ralph Maccio. And they’re fighting people! I feel like that’s all you really need! The next chapter of the Karate Kid franchise has everything you love about the originals with fun, new twists and really, really exciting action. We had a great stunt team that wanted to make something that was fresh and new but in a way that calls back to the old beloved Hong Kong action movies. So the fighting in the film is fun and exciting and fast-paced, and I think it’s some of the best action we’ve seen yet in the Karate Kid franchise.

A quickly engaging and effortlessly entertaining underdog story
Building on the legacy of the earlier franchise entries, but with a modern touch that helps it stand out, Karate Kid: Legends is one of the most entertaining entries in the franchise. Bolstered by a fantastic Ben Wang (who holds his own against the likes of Jackie Chan in the film), Karate Kid: Legends doesn't break new ground but instead relies on strong action choreography and a charming cast to deliver the goods. The film comes alive in the second half, setting up a fighting tournament that's an absolute blast. Light but sweet, Karate Kid: Legends is a fun new take on a classic formula.
