Murderbot (2025)

So it turns out Murderbots are just like us, because when they're supposed to be working, what they actually want to do is sit around and binge watch their favourite shows. Unfortunately, the sentient SecUnit at the heart of Apple's sci-fi dramedy is far too busy dealing with pesky humans to get through his watchlist uninterrupted. You'll want to add this show to yours though thanks to its dry wit and a pitch-perfect Alexander Skarsgård who makes the most of his quirky persona and Ken-doll looks in the lead. Trust me when I say you've never seen him like this before (complimentary).

If you dig any of the lighthearted yet very violent anti-hero stories out there like Invincible or Deadpool, you're going to love Murderbot. It's a show that doesn't take itself too seriously, which is something I'll always respect, and what's more, it's abundantly clear that everyone involved had a lot of fun making this, which also counts for a lot. Naturally, there's shades of films like Dredd and RoboCop here, but they're more like the serious, successful older brothers to this troublesome younger sibling. Alexander Skarsgård, you're comedy gold, and the people deserve to know it!
