Three years after losing her daughter in the Christchurch earthquake, Mareta, a Samoan teacher, takes a job at an elite private school. There, she forms a choir with students who, despite their privilege, are struggling with their own emotional burdens. As Mareta helps them find their voices, she confronts her own grief and a terminal illness.
